| Quote of the Month |
| Winning Horse does not know why he runs in the race. He runs because of beats and pain. Life is a race; God is your rider, So if you are in pain, then think ‘God wants you to win’. |

STREE: The Power of Being a Woman |
|
One of the lasting
impressions about
is India is that the entire country is seeped in antagonism. The Indian women too are an
integral part of this juxtaposition- it is common knowledge that they are amongst
the most oppressed in the world but several of them like Shyamala Gopinath,Chanda
Kochhar,Manisha Girotra are frontrunners in several
areas especially the financial sector. So is this it – are these names auguring
towards a larger trend where the women are finally ready to don the mantle of industry
leaders with finesse or are these just exceptions?
Now days more
and more Indian women are not only opting for higher education but more importantly-
completing it. This means that they are on an equal keel with their male counterparts
as far as the theoretical knowledge goes. Further, still with the advent of globalization,
the fairer sex increasingly is exposed to their emancipated (by a greater degree!)
peers in the western world that fuels their own ambition to break the shackles and
make it big.
It is a deluge
as far as the job market is concerned and Indian women augmented by their newfound
degrees and rediscovered confidence, are repeatedly breaching the male bastions
to conquer what was earlier thought unthinkable. Another question that needs to
be answered is that is education, globalization and the zeal to excel- are the only
factors that are fuelling this revolution or is it something else.
